The “Fourth Trimester” can be hard! Everything is new for the whole family- you, partner, and the baby, and having an extra person around can really be so helpful. As a postpartum doula, I can:
Hold baby while Mom/parents rest, shower, run an errand, or just sit undisturbed for 50 minutes watching a show in he next room.
Tidy the house, do a load of laundry, meal prep, make filling snacks, take the dog out, or even bring the baby and/or an older sibling to the park down the street.
help support parents by being a resource to answer your questions (is this normal? How do I babywear? Should their poop look like this?), connect you to community partners (lactation consultants, mental health providers, ect), being a person to check in with parents about their worries, needs, and wishes.
Overnight assistance- let me stay with baby while you get some rest! If breastfeeding, I will wake up parent for these sessions, and then you get to go right back to sleep. Overnight care expectations will be discussed with each family.
I understand first hand how challenging those first few months of postpartum can be. I want each family to enjoy this season, not just “get by.” I believe a postpartum doula can make that difference.
Price: $40/hour, with a sliding scale for those who need it. I am also in the process of being in network with Medicaid.
